Let’s rank stuff!

In our never-ending search for a Friday rubric we can stick with, we’re going to rank five things, every Friday. We will attempt to stick to rankings of things that have some sort of connection to the news of that week, but we can’t guarantee anything. Want us to rank something? Put it in the responses, or email us at williamfeitch@yahoo.com.

Ghostbusters movies

  1. Ghostbusters (1984)
  2. Ghostbusters 2 (1989)
  3. Ghostbusters: Afterlife (2021)
  4. Ghostbusters (2016)

The new Ghostbusters movie is a mostly soulless bit of franchise management, a way to mine nostalgia and point it in a direction that will hopefully make everybody more money. If it ends up earning enough that they make a sequel, that will absolutely be the worst movie on this list. All that said, it’s still better than the 2016 reboot, which features many many funny people who are so resolutely unsure of their footing that the movie does absolutely nothing at all. Looking at this list: I think there has only been one good Ghostbusters movie? Still?
