What Would Cause Trump To Ever Admit He Lost?
Is it possible? At all?
The New York Times has a story this morning that confirms what we all sort of already knew: Donald Trump is endorsing candidates solely on whether or not they endorse his idea that the 2020 election was stolen. He doesn’t seem to care what their stances on the issues are, or whether or not they’re a quality candidate. All that matters? Will they tell everyone on the campaign trail that Trump really won in 2020? If they will, he’ll support them.
This of course makes perfect sense. Trump, more than anything else, has no agenda other than himself and not feeling like a loser. Remember, back in October 2016, when it looked like Hillary Clinton was pulling away from him (right before the James Comey letter to Congress), Trump was already floating the idea that the election would be “stolen” from him. “I hear these horror shows, and we have to make sure that this election is not stolen from us and is not taken away from us,” he said at an October 13 rally in Philadelphia. “Everybody knows what I’m talking about.” He actually did win that election, which is why he suddenly stopped talking about stolen elections. Which appears to be the only scenario, in his mind, in which any election could possibly be legitimate.
