Georgia Is Going To Win a Title (Maybe Even Right Now)
The big one is almost here, whether it’s this one or the next one.
I usually don’t write about sports here at Medium, but every year I write a big piece about Georgia football. On the eve of their appearance in Monday’s National Championship Game, it seemed prudent to write this today. Don’t worry, we’ll be back to our usual level of maddeningly irritating wishy-washiness post haste.

The last time Georgia played Alabama in the national championship game, it was so horrible that, afterwards, you had to talk to Georgia fans as if they’d been in a serious car accident. I was there in Atlanta to witness the carnage — the burned rubber, the twisted steel. I tried to write to those fans that night, to sit them down and let them know that they would survive this, that no matter how much it hurt, no matter how tempting it was to give in to despair, that they would someday heal.
